March 2024: Well-known Sufi Poet & Dervish, Dool Mama Passed Away

On March 30, 2024, Chitral’s renowned personality Dool Mama passed away after a brief illness. He was known for his extempore poems which embodied themes of Sufism, ethics and love for his homeland Chitral. He was famous among people of every walk of life in Chitral and his dressing, multiple rings and beads, a turban and a traditional wooden catapault which used to accompany him made him look like a wandering dervish.
His death was mourned all over Chitral and thousands of people gathered in his native village, Broze, to say their beloved poet a good bye.
