KHOWARI
Khowari is a non-profit project founded by Fakhr-e-Alam. It aims to digitize and archive the history and literature of Chitral. Chitral, originally Chetrar, is the northernmost district of Pakistan which has a distinguished history and culture. Chitral is home to more than half million Khow people who speak Khowar. There are also Khowar speaking people living in some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan which are adjacent to Chitral.
In Khowari, we aim to digitize & organize contents related to Chitral so that scholars, researchers and general readers can benefit from it & our cultural, historic & literary heritage is preserved for the upcoming generations. Khowari has a particular focus on digging out and presenting the subaltern version of history and maintains an inclusive approach to serve all ethnic, racial, social and religious segments of the Chitrali society.
