Hayward<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Published in: The Journal of the Royal Geographical Society of London , 1871, Vol. 41 (1871), pp. 1-46<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George Jonas Whitaker Hayward (c. 1839 \u2013 18 July 1870) was a well-known nineteenth-century English explorer. He was one of the earliest Europeans to explore Gilgit and Central Asia.
